Not content to leave well enough alone, the US Copyright Office came up with a new set up rules for registering photos. Rather than attempt to explain something that I don't understand, here are some links to articles that may give you some idea of what to expect when the rules take effect on February 20, 2018:

The US Copyright Office is 'modernizing' group registration of photos at DP Review.

New Rules! by artists’ attorney Leslie Burns (referenced in the above article).

New Makeover for Group Registration of Photographs: 6 Takeaways by the Copyright Alliance (also referenced in the DP Review article).

New and Not Improved Copyright Registration Changes Coming at the Copyright Zone (my go-to resource for photography copyright issues).

Two things that stand out to me are that you can only send a maximum of 750 images in a batch, and you must include a spreadsheet listing every image. On a positive note, registrations are still $55 per batch.

That doesn't sound good. I guess I have some reading to do.
