    The Port Orleans Resort French Quarter gives the feel of New Orleans and the Mardi Gras so bring your carnival attitude to the lively quarter of the Big Easy. ;

    Resort Layout:
    Complete with larger than life carnival masks and trombone playing alligators, and the charm and romance of the French Quarter. ; The Sassagoula River runs through the back of the resort and goes up river to Riverside and down the river to the Downtown Disney area.

    Guest Rooms:
    Guest room views include the water view where you can enjoy the views of the Sassagoula River or the pools; The standard view where you can take in the views of the Resort grounds from your room; or the Garden view where there is a view of the ‘inner streets’ of the hotle. ; Each room has two double-size beds, except for a few rooms which have king-size beds. Up to four guests, and one child under three in a crib, are allowed per room. ; Cots are available for $15 per night; call in advance to reserve one. There is space for a sleeping bag on the floor. Rooms include two sinks outside the bathroom, cable TV/radio, armoire, table and chairs, phone with data port for laptop computer, key-operated wall safe (large enough for a very small laptop computer or PDA), hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and coffee maker. Complimentary coffee packs are supplied. There should also be a refrigerator in the room, if it's not there, request it. Bed boards, bed rails, extra blankets and pillows, and baby cribs, are available through housekeeping.

    All rooms open onto a exterior corridor, and are roughly the same layout and size (340 sq. ft.). ; Connecting rooms are available.

    There are approximately 1000 guest rooms; 946 have 2 double beds and 62 rooms have king-size beds. ; There is also 12 disabled accessible rooms.

    Non-smoking rooms are available. ; Smoking is prohibited inside the public buildings. ;

    Check-In & Check-Out:
    Check-in is at 3pm. ; Your room may be available prior to that time, but it is not guaranteed. ; If your room is not available, you can leave your luggage with the Bell Services where it will be delivered to your room with it is ready. ; If you are waiting for your room you can use the main pool (lockers, changing areas, and public restrooms at poolside), or head out to a theme park.

    Check-out is at 11am. ; If you pay by credit card, you do not have to go to desk to check out. ; An itemized bill will be hung on your door by 8:30am on the day of your departure. ; The electronic room key which was given will be automatically deactivated at 11am. ; You can use Bell services to take luggage to your car. ; If you are taking a bus or taxi to the airport, Bell services will keep your luggage until your transportation arrives.

    Dining:
    Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter offers dining choices from world class dining to fun family adventures that will be memories to cherish.

    Boatwright’s Dining Hall has classic American favorites in a relaxing waterfront environment. ; This is a restored boat-construction warehouse in the Sassagoula River. ; This is a casual dining restaurant that serves Southern American and American cuisine.

    This location can accommodate most special dietary needs. ; Advance notice is required and cancellation fees may apply.

    A cancellation policy applies and may result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. ; Specific policies related to this facility will be detailed at the time of reservation booking.

    Specialty celebration cakes are available for an additional charge and should be ordered 48 hours in advance.

    Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Food Court is a converted warehouse setting festooned with festive parade props. ; Enjoy pizza, pasta, hamburgers, split-roasted chicken, BBQ ribs, Cajun meatloaf and sandwiches.

    Yes there is one lounge called Scat Cat's Lounge and one bar. Scat Cat's Lounge is located in the main lobby building. The hours are 4:30 pm to 12:30am. You can order alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

    The bar is located by the pool and is open from 12 pm to 10 pm. You can order alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

    Tip:
    The best beverage deal is the refillable mugs, available for approximate $12 at any of the food court vendors and through pizza delivery. ; The mugs are 16-oz, sturdy, dishwashable safe containers with lids. ; Mugs are refillable for the length of your stay at a self-service beverage island in the center of the food court. ;

    Beverages include soft drinks, coffee, tea, iced coffee and tea, and hot chocolate (but not milk or fruit juice).

    Recreation:
    Pool
    There is one heated pool. The water slide is a huge dragon. The pool also has an "Alligator Band" "playing" (shooting water) on the side of the pool. The water slide closes (is turned off and locked up) at 10 pm. The lifeguards go off duty at the pool at 10 pm. After that it is "swim at your own risk". The pool is located in the center of the hotel property.

    Jacuzzi
    Yes there is one Jacuzzi located by the pool. The Jacuzzi is supposed close at 2 am, but there is never a point where people are not allowed in it. As long as people keep the volume to a reasonable level you can go in the Jacuzzi at any time. With only one jacuzzi, don't expect it to be quiet and intimate... you will usually find others in the water.

    Carriage Ride
    Take an evening horse and carriage ride through the French Quarter and Riverside regions of Disney's Port Orleans Resort. The 30-minute carriage rides start in front of Boatwright's Dining Hall nightly. The first ride departs at 6 pm, and the last ride departs at 9:30 pm. ; Each carriage can accommodate as many as four adults or two adults and two or three children. Each ride costs $30 including tax. Cash and Walt Disney World resort guest room charges will be accepted. Early reservations are recommended, and can be made them at the Riverside Marina near the main building. ; Carriage rides may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

    Playground
    A playground is located in the courtyard across from the spa.

    Bikes & Boats
    A variety of watercrafts are available for rent at the French Quarter. ; These include: pedal boats, watermice, kayaks, canopy boats, pontoon boats or Sea Raycers.

    Bicycles and surrey bikes are also available for rent.

    A family plan allows up to five members of your party, four hours of boat use and unlimited use of bicycles (but not surrey bicycles) for a fixed price for your entire stay. Daily plans are also available. Note that with these plans, there may be a time limit for each individual use (usually 30 minutes depending on availability), but there is no limit to the number of times you can use the equipment.     Motorboat captains must be at least 12 years old and 5 feet tall (for watermice) or 18 years old for canopy and pontoon boats.

    Shopping
    Jackson Square is the store located in the main lobby building. It opens at 6:30 am every morning and closes every night at 11:30 pm. The store sells Disney memorabilia, as well as hotel memorabilia, stamps, postcards, film, some over counter medication, snacks, soda, wine, beer, and hard liquor.

    Other Amenities:

    The front desk is open 24 hours.

    Telephone, voice mail & fax
    Each guest room has full-featured voice mail. ; Messages from inside or outside Walt Disney World can be left on voicemail, and individual message can be saved or deleted by the guest.

    You are notified by voice mail when faxes are received; they can be delivered to your room, or you can pick them up at the Front Desk. ; Service charges for incoming and outgoing faxes will be applied - check with the front desk for current rates. ; Photocopy services are also available for a fee.

    Transportation:

    To get to any other Disney Resort you can take Disney Transportation, or drive yourself if you have a car or take a taxi. If you are using Disney Transportation here is what to do.
    To get to Disney's Riverside Resort: hop on any bus going anywhere, and get off at the first stop which is the main lobby building of the Riverside Resort.

    Other ways to get to Riverside include walking and boat. Walking is along the scenic pathway and is approximate 7-10 minutes from food court to food court. For boats, go to the marina. Boats depart every 20 minutes from 9:10 am until 11 pm.
    To get to any other Disney Resort, hop on any bus going anywhere, and get off at that bus's destination and switch to the bus, or boat, or, monorail that services the Resort you want at that bus stop. Be careful of park closing times so that you are able to return to your hotel.

    Buses to Universal Studios Florida and Sea World are provided by Mears.

    If you bring or rent a car, you will find parking at the resort to be ample and free. ; Depending on your room location, you may or may not be able to park close to your room. ; Ask when room selection is made.

    Airport Transportation will stop at the entrance of the resort.

    Rates:
    The resort is priced similar to the other moderate resorts: Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach. Just like the other WDW hotels, there are Value Season, Regular Season, Peak Season and Holiday Season.

    Standard rooms have a maximum four-person occupancy per room. Prices are per room, and there is an additional adult charge of $15 per adult per night for more than two adults in a room.

    ‘Ultimate Park Hopper’ passes, which include admission to all Disney theme parks, Water parks, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest and Wide World of Sports can be purchased at check-in.
