Here is a look down a street in St. George. This USED to be an amazing and bustling town for tourists. But when the cruise industry began making bigger and better ships, they do not fit through the channel to get into the harbor here, essentially killing the tourism in this town. All the major crusie lines dock at the Royal Naval Dockyards, a good 75 minute cab ride or an 45 minute ferry, both of which are quite pricey. I fondly remember on my honeymoon cruise that we woke up early on Wednesday as the ship moved from Hamilton to St. George, and the moped rental company would move our bike for us! Each time I have gone back with my parents, my father and I get the motor bikes and St. George is our first destination, then we take our time returning to the dockyard.
