Anyone else shoot the Supermoon?

I couldn't help but head out last night and snap a few of the supermoon with my 500mm lens and 2x teleconverter for a little 1000mm action, plus 1.5x crop factor for a 1,500mm equivalent:

If you shot the supermoon, feel free to share your results.

Not to sound snarky or anything, but with nothing else in the shot to refernce the "SuperMoon" size, how is this any different than any other great moon photo? ; And yes, great shots!

Very Nice! I don't have any long lenses at the moment, so I didn't even think to try. That was probably a big mistake. I got up in the middle of the night to look outside because it was so bright, it seemed like there was a streetlight right outside my window. Of course as soon as I saw that I realized I should have gone down to the beach and gotten a wide shot with the reflection on the ocean. But at 3:30 AM a warm bed seemed much more desirable.

Red - no snarkiness at all - I agree, it's even better if you can get one with the moon against the horizon or an object to put it in perspective. ; Put simply - I would have if I could have! ; I was with friends most of the evening, at the movies, and didn't have a chance to even see the moon until I got home around 11:30pm. ; So that was my first chance to shoot it - and of course it was already high overhead by then.

And the supermoon doesn't look a whole lot different than a normal moon to be honest - it's about 10-13% bigger looking - the main thing is how bright it is. ; But if there's going to be a day to long lens the moon, might as well be when it's at its biggest!

I'm surprised so many others didn't get the opportunity - real irony at play there. ; Usually it's me who has no chance at the astro photography when everyone else does - with Florida's routine cloud cover, rain, and humidity, we're the worst place in the US for that type of stuff. ; But we were quite unusually crystal clear skies that night.

don't feel bad, i humped a tripod and ballhead all the way to boston, ate supper and took the T to the north end, killed time with a pastry from mike's and right before it got dark and was going to head to the spot i had researched, the fog rolled in, could not see the top 1/3 of either the hancock or prudential buildings. so no boston skyline at night for me, which might have had real potential for a killer moon shot

I like #7 & #9 in those shots. #9 with the birds in front of the moon in Amman is awesome. #7 actually looks like the moon is in font of the cross. I know it's not but the way the picture came out gives it that impression.
