I tried this too last February. But I was focused so hard on holding the camera steady I forgot to smile.
I cant get rid of the noise though, the way Tim does.

Oof. I have to get this shot when I'm there in June. Never even tried with a P&S.

Any Tips, Tim ? I've got close to the same setup as you, so specifics appreciated.

The Noise Ninja is stronggggggg with this one...

Craig, you really ought to (Bibble) try Noise Ninja (Bibble). It can really do (Bibble) wonders with noise (Bibble), and most of the major (Bibble) cameras already have noise (Bibble) profiles established.

BTW, how did you like Bibble? Did you know it has basic NN built in?

I havent tried bibble yet. I want to download the trial version when I know I will have time to sit down and really try it out. I am assuming it is a time trial. Or is it a watermark trial? If it's watermark trial I should get moving and play.

I really want to try it with my batch of POTC raw files.

No, it's a full version, although I think they reduced the time limit, so I can see where you are. But it doesn't start from when you download it, only from when you install it. Or maybe even run it the first time.

But they seem to allow extensions.

These are always great! I wish I would remember to pick up the camera and try this the next time I am there.

Ok. First Tim blew me away with those shots. Then I could see Roger wasn't pleased with his but I would have been overjoyed to get that good (moving, no tripod, dark, etc.). But Gdad Jeff! How is that possible??

Yeah Gdad those are amazing. I don't even know how that's possible as dark as it is in there... Tim's are pretty darn good too, better than any I've taken.

Here is one of the hitchhiking ghosts out at DL that I thought turned out pretty decent:
