Here's a pano I stitched of the Boardwalk at night, from across the way at Beach Club - it's a 5 shot pano:

To the right is the lighthouse dock of Beach Club and the Dolphin in the background. The pano originally included ESPN too, but I cut it out to reduce the size for online posting.

a bit of input, if you don't mind, if the horizon is perfectly straight I think it'll look even more amazing.

Would you mind posting a higher resolution version of it? I would love to look at the details if possible.

OK...here goes! Sorry I was off the boards last night and didn't see this until late. I have uploaded a larger version of the shot...which has served to remind me that I should go back and clean it up too! I did this pano a few years ago, when I was a bit of a newbie on post-processing work. I haven't really cleaned up the stray noise very well, there's a couple of lens flares I could clone out, and my poor cloning skills in removing a sign on the beach left obvious scars in the water where it was. I can definately post-process better than this now! Anyway, here is the link to a larger size...the original is just a bit too large to upload to my site, so I uploaded a medium sized one (3000x1043):

Thanks for the kind comments...and for the suggestion on the horizon. I agree...I'll use the excuse again that I was a bit green with using Photoshop back then and post-processing. But I'm going to work on cleaning it up from the originals. I am realizing that I could probably work full-time on re-post-processing all of my past photos...but it doesn't pay very well! ;)

not a pano but i figured it could go here since this is a boardwalk thread, from the balcony, villas, room 3026, i really wanted to get the psychotic clown as some call the slide at luna park, i have heard of parents taking kids to the pool and the kids being scared by the clown's mouth
but this was our balcony view so you work with where you stand, esp since i was too lazy that late at night to take the tripod downstairs and back up.
this is our home resort, we absolutely love staying here each mousefest
zackiedawg, your pano is great, that's something i've never tried to do, i think you've inspired me to try this

Thanks Gary. That slide brings back a few bad memories for me! The one and only time I felt anything in Disney was misrepresented involved that slide:

When I purchased into the DVC, the Boardwalk was my home resort...however the first few times I used the points it was at other resorts. Finally, I booked Boardwalk, without yet knowing the differences in the classes; when I called, they asked if I wanted 'standard' or 'water' view. Now, I'm a Disney veteran, enough to know that 'water view' also includes the pool areas - so that wasn't the surprise (it catches alot of first-timers off guard when they pay extra for water view expecting to be seeing a lake and instead are looking at a pool full of kids). No - I actually knew the water view might include a pool...but I took the water view because even a pool seemed more open, and with a wider view than the parking lot.

When I arrived at check-in, they confirmed what I figured already - I had a pool view instead of the canalside...which was fine. However when I got to my 1-bedroom place on the 2nd floor expecting to look out at the lovely pool, I instead found not 20-feet away and at eye-level was a huge wooden structure with stairs running up the back occupying basically my entire view! Yep...the clown slide!

What was worse was that people using the slide and climbing the stairs got to look directly into my condo at eye level...not that I do anything kinky...but I do like my privacy, and 2nd floor rooms at least avoid that 'walk-by' intrusion. But not this place! Watching TV, waking up to look out the window, cooking in the kitchen...no matter where I was, I could see people looking in from that slide.

I never bothered to complain...but I learned my lesson! I still don't mind getting a pool view for a waterview...but I want to see that pool area first to make sure there are no surprises!

last year during mousefest we had 4th floor, exactly level and what seemed like a few feet away from the top of the slide, it felt like we could have handed a cold drink to the lifeguard, but when we had a boardwalk view during food & wine in oct, last year that was 2nd floor and i felt like that was less private, noticed an awful lot of people strolling the boardwalk and looking up at the rooms
but still my favorite resort at the world, giving a week stay to my niece as a wedding present for their honeymoon next year, neither she nor fiance have been to the world since they were young, i'm letting the luxury level be a surprise, and i've had notation made on the res they are on honeymoon, i did tell her about the bride and groom micky mouse headgear

(although i've never stayed there, the poly is running a close second... that place just oozes theming)

I've always wanted to stay at the Boardwalk since first seeing it three years ago ... but with 2 young ones (7 and 1) and a large travel group (15 !), we've just been renting vacation homes 5 minutes from the park. My wife and I are talking about going for a four day weekend next fall, in which case I think we'll try to stay at the Boardwalk. It looks great.

I'll be staying ON the Boardwalk for the first time this June...I've always wanted one of the condos on the Boardwalk, but never seem to get one. Finally, I got a 1-bedroom there! Surprisingly, it's not any extra points than a water-view, but they just get requested so often that they are usually the first to go. They only have a limited number that sit on the actual Boardwalk. Advantages: Close to the action - just head downstairs and down the hall a bit; Great view - watch sunsets over Beach Club and sparkling lights on the bay, with the boats going to and fro; Balcony life - people watching the boardwalk below, watching the entertainers, etc. from the balcony. I'm tellin ya, as hot as it gets in June, I may spend an inordinate amount of time back at the room this trip - it'll be as good as the parks!

Overall, I'd agree with Tim - it's the best resort for all the reasons combined - rooms, entertainment, food, design, atmosphere, etc. Old Key West has the biggest condos, Polynesian has the best grounds (stay there in February, when it's cool and the parks are empty - it's wonderful!!), and Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge have the coolest main buildings/lobbies...but Boardwalk has a little bit of everything, and nightlife to boot!

I agree with the general concensus here - the Boardwalk area is the best! We stayed at the Yacht Club once, and enjoyed it a lot (found a great deal. Normally it would have been way above our budget). :-\

The Boardwalk area is actually like a mini-resort all its own!

My first post here. Forgive me, but I couldn't help adding a picture to the group. Boardwalk is, to me, the best place in the entire world. We are DVC members and have stayed there several times, and even had the chance to do the big grand villa on the villas side. Amazing does not even begin to describe that.

Anyway, here's my 2 favorite shots of mine. I'm still learning.
