Looks cool, but remind me not to sit at the bar at sunset ... looks like quite a glare !

I've never been to California Grill before, but we're going down for a quick 5 day trip to Food & Wine festival, and we've got reservations there for this Saturday, so I'm looking forward to it.
 
We ate at the Calif Grill in August. The food was MUCH better than I remember. We ate lots of appetizers and sushi, no entree's. Be prepared to pay for that food though. Our bill was over $120 with the Disney dining plan!
 
That's a BIG reason as to why we go on the Dining plan all the time! You can eat at a place like this, and although you are using 2 table service credits, you can have a bill like that and it doesn't hurt. When my wife and I got married we had out group have dinner in the Private room there after the ceremony, and we try to go there once a trip for our anniversary night dinner.

Just found this thread again after our trip for Food & Wine at the beginning of October.

I really enjoyed CG, especially since we got a window seat and got to watch the Halloween fireworks from our table.

The food was very good; simple steakhouse fare but well prepared. The wine list, on the other hand, was fantastic, and with the Dining Experience discount, not all that marked up. The wife and I dined with 4 others, and the 2 of us split a bottle of 2004 Merus Cab, which retailed on release at abour $145, and since has shot up to $250 on the aftermarket. With the Dining Experience discount, it was only $220 at CG - very reasonable for a very "high end" California Cabernet.

Between this and Il Mulino, we've got two new "favorites" for our Disney trips.
