I think that this is kind of odd, since this camera has been out for 3 years, yet they are going to fix it?? (But remember I only trust Canon service as far as I can ....)

not to hijack, but the few times i have had to send things to canon factory service they actually fixed the problem. well, except for the one time i had a lens fixed and it didn't focus upon return, but i sent it back and it was better than new once i got it back the 2nd time. don't even get me started on a certain big box electronic store's "DORK ZONE" who couldn't fix a flat tire let alone a sophisticated piece of equipment.
