Well they chose not to respond to Nikon's fall announcements when they could have. Perhaps they needed to retool the 5D's replacement, but all they needed to do was improve the noise and speed and it would have been enough to match!
And the prices of the new lenses came out.
Canon's new 200/2 IS will be $2k MORE than Nikon's 200/2 VR. Nikon's recent long lenses to get back into the sports shooter market were priced around $1k higher than Canon's.
And the 800/5.6 will be $12k. Granted that is A LOT cheaper than the old 1200/5.6, but it's a decent amount more than the 600/4.
So we go from the Mk3 fiasco to this....response at PMA. I haven't had the best opportunity to fully test my "white dot" since it was repaired and it better be everything it was supposed to be when I go to Orlando in 9 days or else there will be L glass to be had here.
