Disney’s Block Party

Is anyone planning on going to Disney’s Block Party in Toronto this Summer? The dates are Friday, August 15th - Sunday, August 17th, 2008 at Downsview Park.

Disney puts its own twist on the good old fashioned music festival with the Disney Music Block Party. The Tour that will stretch throughout July and August will play multiple nights at different venues across the continent.

The show will be hosted by actress/singer Raven Symone who kids will remember from her Disney show That's So Raven or the made for TV film The Cheetah Girls, but who parents will remember as one of the adorable kids on The Cosby Show. Performers will vary by venue but will include acts like the Barenaked Ladies and They Might Be Giants.

The Toronto Lineup is:

Choo Choo Soul, Imagination Movers, Ralph's World, Hosted by Raven Symoné

Disney Canceled the Block Party in most locations except NY. This sucks I was looking forward to taking the kids to it. Disney has not said why.

Disney Music Block Party Tour cancels most dates at last minute
Today's Disney Music Block Party Tour in Hartford, CT was canceled along with tomorrow's scheduled performance. According to a report by WTNH, tickets were still available up to an hour prior to concert show time. The news channel reports that Disney headquarters when contacted for comment, said point-blank, that they would not be releasing a statement. In checking the official website for the Disney Block Party Tour we discovered that the Hartford, CT performances were not the only cancellations. The previously scheduled performances for Chicago, Il (Friday, August 8 - Sunday, August 10), Columbus, OH (Tuesday, August 12 - Wednesday, August 13), Toronto, ONT (Friday, August 15 - Sunday, August 17), and Detroit, MI (Tuesday, August 19 - Wednesday, August 20) are all now listed as cancelled. Only the previously announced tour dates for Long Island, NY (Friday, August 22 - Sunday, August 24) remain.
