I am looking to purchase a Pocketcam before my next trip to Disney. ; I realize that my camera can record close to what I would get on a flipcam, but like the size and ease of use of the flipcam. ; Does anyone have one they really like or have a recommendation for one? ; Looking to keep the price between $100-$200. ; I would possibly be using this near the pool or in the rain so water resistant is nice (think it narrows it down to Kodak only) but image quality and low light recording are main determining factors. ; So again...

Price Range: $100 min/ $200 max
; ; ; ; ; (before any accessories)
Main Factors: Image quality & low light shooting.
2ndary Factors: water resistance, battery life & memory.

Ive got a Kodak Zx3 on the way. ; The Zx3's price dramatically because the Zx5 is coming out in March but chose to go with the older model. ; I just got the Zx3 for 118 on Amazon and Believe that the Zx5 will run about 180.


The new model is waterproof,shockproof and dustproof while the Zx3 is just waterproof but could stand a couple of bumps and bruises.


Both cameras take 5 MP still pics and 1080 HD video (as well as 720 60 fps and 720 fps)
 
is the shockproof/dustproof the only difference between the two cameras (other than a few asthetic changes)? ; Looking at the specs it says the Zx3 has a 5mp CMOS and the Zx5 has a 1/3.2" 5MP CMOS... what is the difference?

The only other difference I can find is that they have added better autofocus for when you zoom in. Other than that Im not to sure. Oh yeah and new colors :P
 
I still have 30 days before my trip so I may hold off a couple of weeks and see how well you like the zx3. ; I would probably go to best buy ($125) since they have a good return policy and are brick and mortar. ; It's so confusing trying to buy a gadget like this when few people you know have them. ; I was looking at the amazon reviews on them and it makes it even worse. ; One guy gave it a 1 star because it would only take 12 photos or 8 seconds of video before running out of memory (gee, I wonder why?). ; Others complained about it not being truly waterproof and having to send it in for repairs. ; Were these anomalies or the norm? ; Oh well, can't wait to hear what you think of it (especially in lowlight conditions).

Haha did the guy figure out that it doesnt come with a memory card? Not sure how many pics but I just popped in my 8 GB memory card and at 1080 I can get about 1 hr and 22 minutes of video and at 720 I can get about 1 hour and 58 minutes. Havent checked out how many pics yet.
 
I don't think he did, but some of the other posters gave him a hard time about it. ; Let me know what you think of the camera once you get the chance to really play around with it.
