Gettysburg National Military Park

OK. Now I am up to two pictures that I am really proud of.... Since I don't do any post processing, I need to get the pic right out of the camera.

I spent Thurs before MagicMeets scouting locations to get a pics early Friday morning. Here is the best (most interesting) of the bunch.

yes I did... There may be more in the pile... I actually took a lot of pic (250+) Thurs and Fri at Gettysburg.... Not a one at MagicMeets... Oh well I was busy...

One more...

Statue of General Warren standing on Little Round Top looking down on Devil's Den. Site of the most casualties during the battle of Gettysburg.

I had to stand on a rock on tip toe with the camera over my head and pray.... I have a few with either the head cut off or the statue 1/2 out of the pic. I like the sky in this one...

Is that looking towards Seminary Ridge? It almost looks like it was 145 years ago early on the morning of July the 3rd. Quiet.

And as for Little Round Top, it's almost like being there as part of the 20th Maine, holding your ground.

I think so Roger.

I didn't get moving as early as I planned, but I think this worked out better.

5 posts in one topic... you trying to set a new personal record or something, Meg?

Late to the party in seeing these - but glad I did. Always wanted to see that site, but haven't as yet had the chance. The foggy morning shot is a great atmospheric - very cool!

My daughter attended Gettysburg College for four years and I never really got to photograph the battlefields. Mainly because I didn't have dSLR until her final year. In fact, she never got there until just last weekend a year after leaving with friends she was visiting with in Washington, DC. ::)

Great shots, Meg! Keep'em coming!
