The light in the conservatory isn't always there.

But neither is the lightning effect either.

That's funny. The shadow of the planter on the conservatory ALMOST looks like a HM.

Very nice, Ron.

One of my goals for next year is to hit the park up for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween and to take just these kind of shots of the Haunted Mansion ... when they've got the extra cobwebs and the smoke machine going. It really gives the mansion a whole different feel to see it at night.

Nice, Tim. I wonder what kind of effect you could get experimenting with polarizers on that shot ?

I was at MNSSHP in 2004 and the night I was there had some bizzare weather that blew threw just before they closed the park and reopened. It dumped a ton of water on the ground, and then heated up quickly. There was literally steam rising off the ground while the sky was a bizzare hazy purple. I got it on video ... but man I wished I had the SLR for that.

i don't think a polarizer would have any effect on this shot because there is no overhead sunlight to diffuse. the only think a polarizer would do is make the camera require 1 more stop of light which would lengthen the shutter speed.

i wish they would use the enhanced lighting every night as it really is a nice effect.
