Here I come again! June 3-7

Headed up to Disney again...it's been too long, I was going through withdrawal. ; Decided to go ahead and hunt for a last minute DVC place - thinking for sure I was going to have to really hunt around and be flexible. ; With less than 30 days notice, usually you need to be extremely flexible with which DVC resort, room size, and the days - helps to have 2 or 3 different backup dates.

So I called up - told them I was flexible, and we'd start with my first choice and then fish around from there to see what I can get. ; I started off with Boardwalk as the preferred location, standard view if possible, 1-bedroom villa, checkin June 3 and checkout June 7. ; I had the whole list of alternate weekends, ready to switch to Saratoga or OKW, when the CM came back with "I've got a 1-bedroom, preferred view, Boardwalk, June 3-7 available...only one. ; Do you want to take that?" ; Well OkeeDokee - that was easy! ; A few extra points for the Preferred view which I didn't really need - but it'll do. ; Stuck in the usual waitlist for Boardwalk view (fat chance, that!), and booked.

So it's official - back to Disney for a nice, hot, humid, miserable June extended weekend! (It's hot and humid here, it's hot and humid at Disney - if I'm going to be dealing with hot and humid...it's not a hard choice between home and Disney!).

If anyone is around during that time, pop in and let me know - maybe we can meet up for a photo walk or lunch break or something. ; Otherwise, I'll just be hauling the camera around, takin my time, drinking a lot of water, chillin in some shady spots, and enjoying the air conditioned refuges throughout the parks!
 
Indeed - I will be trying to squeeze MSEP in - it apparently opens the last night I'm there...which fortunately is also an EMH night. ; So I'm definitely going to try to fit that into the schedule.
 
Turns out that I will be there at the same time. ; I am flying in just before 2 on Sunday the 6th. and leaving during the day on that following Saturday. ; I'd like to take you up on that get together.
 
Sounds good! ; We'll likely have to make it the 6th as that's our overlap day - I'll be leaving fairly early on the 7th right after checkout.

If evening, MK sounds like the best park to meet, what with the EMH hours and MSEP debut...if you want to meet earlier in the afternoon it can be pretty much anywhere. ; I park hop a lot when I'm there, so if I'm doing MK that evening, I may well be somewhere else that day. ; As you're getting in that day around 2pm, let me know about when you expect to be there and all checked in and organized...I'll be pretty flexible.
 
The only thing for me is I'm not staying on property this trip. ; It is really a scouting trip for me for our upcoming move to the central Florida area. ; I'll have a car and am staying at a Baymont Inn somewhere close. ; I got the whole trip car rental, hotel and flight for $650 for the week. ; So the EMH are out for me. ; Other then that, I am up for anything. ; I am planning on hitting Star Wars Weekends either that day, or the Friday later in the week because I have never been. ; I am def up for the MSEP debut though, I didn't realize I was that lucky to be there for that too! ; This is turning into the best last minute trip EVER! ;)
 
No problem on the EMH - we can either meet earlier in the evening at another park, or meet at MK anytime before the EMH hours. ; I don't think I'll use the EMH much that night anyway, since I'm leaving the next morning - probably just an hour or two, maybe wrap by 11:30-12.

We'll figure it out! ; Fairly last minute trip for me too - usually don't wait to book within 30 days, as DVC gets tough - but got lucky this time.
 
I hope they actually update the title float. ; Based on last night's dress rehearsal, they are still using the 'modified'[nb]Since MSEP glowedout forever, the zombie parade is now DEP, not MSEP.[/nb] one. ; But perhaps that's what they want to call this zombie parade. ; Although WDW marketing is calling it MSEP, even though the pics they are using from DCA show it as DEP.
 
I hope they change it too. ; But given their attention to detail, if it wasn't changed for the dress rehearsal, I doubt they change it.
 
This time tomorrow...I'll be either at Disney, or on the roads of Kissimmee/Orlando working my way in. ; Can't wait!
 
I'm counting down as well. ; I will call you Justin when I get checked into my hotel so we can plan out where we are going to meet.
 
Yep! ; Got up here around 2:45pm today...just about 10 minutes before the skies opened up and let Niagara Falls come raining down. ; Lots of lightning, crazy storm. ; It all passed around 3:45pm, and the boats resumed, so I hopped the boat from Boardwalk to DHS and walked around there for a bit (crowds light to medium...not too bad at all - but hard to tell if that was due to the rain partially as well). ; Then, hopped a bus to Old Key West and grabbed the boat to Downtown Disney. ; Ate on the Rainforest patio (tradition!) then spent 3-4 hours or so walking around Downtown. ; Just got back to the Boardwalk a few minutes ago - changed to the indoor clothes, and settling in to read a book and go to bed.

Tomorrow - probably AK. ; Gay Days are over at DHS, so it'll probably be the most crowded tomorrow - chance of rain is very high (60%) for tomorrow afternoon, so AK is a good place for me to get caught in the rain - I love the scenery there, and the rain might knock the crowds down and cool off the heat of the day. ; I'll have to bring a camera bag for the DSLR in case the rain comes hard. ; Today and tonight I just shot with the ultra-compact in its waterproof case.

I'll pop in sometime tomorrow to check in here. ; Hope you all are having fun, even though you're NOT at Disney! ; :)
 
It's typical 40% chance of rain stuff all through the week - but that's a little better than Thu & Fri which were 60% chance of rain. ; Today, the chance of rain was the highest...but we only had a brief morning shower, the whole day at AK was dry, then as I was leaving the park around 4pm, another bigger storm passed close by - lightning and thunder stayed a few miles off, but the showers brushed by for 10 minutes. ; I wouldn't worry about it - the usual Florida stuff - chance of rain at any time, but more often not raining than raining...and when it does rain, it's usually pretty short lasting.

The heat and humidity are full-bore though! ; Aah, just like home. ; Just stepping outside and having a thought go through your mind will make you sweat.
