I noticed that the 50/1.4 tends to flare. A lot.

I've noticed the same thing with my 50 1.8. I took some pictures during the recent eclipse, and the moon actually blew out! The cool part of those pics, though, is the stars that appear on the images - pretty incredible sensitivity.
