I got a Nikon D7000!

My next trip to WDW is October 23 (Wilderness Lodge).

Nikon announced the new Nikon D7000 DSLR a month ago that I pre-ordered via Amazon. However, Amazon was projecting delivery in mid-November.

I dropped by Best Buy today, and they received a shipment of just two D7000's yesterday, and they sold me one today (even though the camera doesn't officially go on sale until Oct 17).

I'm stoked! I get to use my new camera for my VWL trip!

Welcome to the forums DVC Mike. ; And congrats on that score. ; I saw that Amazon is reporting it, but what I heard is that they sold out of their initial shipment of the camera, and that November is the next expected shipment. ; Something about the factory in Thailand is already at capacity trying to get the new Nikon models out.
 
good for you. I am eyeballing one myself for a next year purchase. let us know how you like it.
 
Welcome aboard, and congrats on the new camera.

I'm a Canon guy myself, but I like the specs I see on the D7000; it looks comparable to or better than my own Canon 50D.

A new camera is a great new toy, but I always enjoy it most when I get it just before a WDW trip. I shoot more at WDW than I do the rest of the year combined, so my trips are always a real photographic workout.
 
Welcome to the forums and congratulations on the new camera! ; Always fun as a photo nut getting boxes delivered to the door with goodies in them...it's like being kids at Christmas (until we get the bill, then it's like being a parent at Christmas). ; :)
