I wanted to be able to make some HD video demos of my camera harness product, showing how they work, yada, yada. But instead of buying a dedicated video camera, I decided instead to buy a nice point and shoot still camera that also did HD video. After shopping around for maybe 2 hours online and in local stores, I grabbed up a bundle deal at Best Buy on a Canon Powershot SD1400 IS.
I've only had it for a few hours, and only taken a dozen or so pics with it; I'm still playing around with settings, getting to know the controls, figuring out how to change ISO, white balance, etc. But so far, I like it a lot. It's TINY, and very light, and although the LCD is small, it's very bright and sharp. I think I'm going to enjoy this camera as a daily shot-grabber, and I think the video will be satisfactory, too.
