Went downtown tonight for my first time visiting this neat little celebration.

Great shot. ; The fireworks look a lot better than they did when I watched it on TV tonight. ; I plan on shooting the monument when I return from WDW.
 
I went downtown the day after Tom did. ; Here are a couple of my shots. ; You can see more at my Flickr page.

Looking up at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indianapolis from within the "circle of lights".



A sailor stands guard over the holiday spirit on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis as the world rushes by all around.



I had to fiddle with the white balance on this one, since the foreground light was very warm and the background was very natural. I cooled it off a bit; I feel that the resulting blue cast on the monument in the background is rather pleasing.
