Well, looking at the wall again I realize it is not the exit of the shop. ; However, I think instead of looking under the mat, I should look behind it and figure out "The Mystery of the Missing Receptionist".

I posted this on another forum, and it took them several days to figure it out. ; You had the attraction on the first guess. ; Way to go!
 
Whenever I see a "WAI" with part of a background in it, my first step is the place the background (and not the object itself). ; The next step is to throw out a location and hope you get lucky. ; I just happened to get lucky.
