Lens Help

OK. ; I have been "volunteered" to photograph my wife's cousin's wedding. ; I need a good walk around lens and have been doing a little research.
This is what the majority of the "experts" have come up with. ;
Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 AF-S ED DX

Any thoughts or experience with this lens? ; I will be renting.

Which camera?

That is a good lens for DX; my only concern would be that it isn't long enough to be truly useful for a wedding.

However, if you could only take along one lens that one probably would be it....
 
I used that lens for a wedding last year. Worked great. Sharp and sweet lens. I rented it from Lensrentals.com
