Not a bad price either- relatively speaking- I think the Leica 50/0.95 Noctilux is over ten grand.

Unfortunately I don't think that's the case. ; I think it has to do with the longer path to the sensor. ; In theory you could get an adapter to work, but either you'd have focus shift and/or you'd lose infinity focus or something like that.

You see Craig, you can buy an adapter which will allow you to mount your 4/3 lenses onto a m4/3 body and still retain functions like metering and autofocus. ; Unlike the adapter where you can mount your old OM lenses onto a 4/3 body, but you won't have autofocus, mainly because the OM lenses don't have autofocus. ; And you can also get adapters for Canon EF, Nikon AI/G for m4/3.

I'm a wee bit concerned about that. ; It kinda sounds like this is a bit of a shady deal.. the story also hints that the lens sounds like a near copy of an already existing CCTV lens.
I dunno.. when I think of CCTV I don't think of exacting optical quality. ; But the unusually wide aperture makes sense, to make the systems better able to function in low light.
That said if it were to come to Canon mounts, I'd consider it if it proved my suspicions wrong. ; I can imagine some situations where I could have a field day with an F.95 lens.. well, if the DOF didn't make it largely useless at the same time. ; I mean.. a DOF that shallow combined with manual focus only.. that sounds rather limiting.
