Montezuma 2011

I got nowhere near the quality of photos Howie brings back on a daily basis. ; The wildlife at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge kept their distance. I detailed my reasons why on my blog at A Good Friday. I spent more time observing and working on my bird life list than photographing. All photos are cropped as needed.

Here's my "I saw an eagle" shot.

A Great Blue Heron watching the world go by. ; The New York State Thruway toll road goes right through the middle of the refuge. High fences keep both wildlife and humans safe.

Now, for a mystery guest. ; I have not been able to identify this duck. ; Not sure if this is a camera malfunction or what.
