Needed: Camera Bag/Carry-On

I am going to need a camera bag/carry-on to transport the following equipment on aircraft: 2 camera bodies, 2 telephoto lenses, 1 wide angle & 50mm lens and room for accessories like batteries, battery charger, etc. PLUS 15 inch notebook computer (aka MacBook Pro).

Any recommendations?
 
That looks good, just double check that the tri pod attachment is part of the bag, and not extra. ; The other bag has it as an attachment, and the photo's on that bag say that they are shown with optional equipment.
 
Other options:
Tamrac Cyberpack 8 ; (used to own it, wish I hadn't gotten rid of it!) ; Looks like the 6 may fit it as well.

Lowepro Vertex 300
Lowepro also now makes a ProRunner and ProTrekker series, the latter has a compartment for a hydration system in addtion to being a camera/laptop backpack.....

I have one of the Tamrac Cyberpaks (maybe 7 or 8? ; I'll check the number when I get home). ; I like it, but I found that with the front pockets fully loaded, I had trouble stuffing it into the overhead bins. ; On the smaller regional jets, it won't fit in the overhead bin and I had to unload the front pocket completely so that I could barely stuff it under the seat in front of me. ; I still think its a good bag, and will probably be using it to transport my gear to Pixelmania this year.

I also think that Think Tank bags are worth looking at. ; I don't have any of their camera bags yet, but I just bought one of their laptop bags and I love it. ; It has more room than my old one and the quality of materials and construction are excellent.

That's the problem...they are expensive as are the Lowepro bags. ; After plunking down for the D700, I need to be a bit frugal with this purchase. ; ::)

I was wondering how these larger backpacks did on the planes. ; This will definitely be something I carry on.

Roger, how was your Tamrac bag on the planes?
 
I forgot one more thing about my Cyberpack... ; It has a pocket in the back for a laptop, but I always carry my laptop in a separate bag. ; I don't think that my bag would have fit into the overhead bins with the laptop.
 
Yeah the Cyberpack 8 barely fit in the overhead. ; I know it won't fit in a regional jet overhead though - fortunately I didn't have to go through that issue when I was using it! ; (and it fit with the laptop!)

The specs show that it meets the standards yet I swear the bins to check your size are smaller than the airlines' published specs for carryon luggage.....

I actually had[nb]have still for the moment[/nb] the U100 under the Quantaray Pro label; got it via Craigslist locally. ; Well, one of the tripod straps broke right before the Hootenanny so that was fun - the backpack had the tripod straps attached via a rubber connection point and that's what broke, so it's not repairable.

One thing you should be aware of about the Nanec bags is that while the camera insert is removable, it has it's own zipper, so you have to go through two zippers to get to your gear. ; After using it I really didn't like it.

If you want one with wheels and still be a backpack, KEH has a COMPU TREKKER PLUS AW ROLLING BACKPACK BLACK in stock, EX, for a really good price. ; I was considering it but I decided on the Tenba PB-15C they also had, which is out of production. ; I was also considering the Think Tank Airport Antidote 2.0 - mainly because it comes with a laptop sleeve, and also because my local store had one in stock to check out.....no wheels, and it's $200, but it was designed to fit in even the CRJ planes (overhead) when you take the laptop out, which any of the bags with wheels would not be able to do...
