When the weather's warm, the sun is shining, the skies are partly cloudy, the aqua-color waves are gently lapping on the sugar sands, the green palm fronds are swaying on a gentle breeze...Boca Raton is not a half bad place to live. ; A few scenics from a lovely Sunday day:
Some rather nice homes lining the Spanish River section of the intercoastal waterway, as seen from the Spanish River marina on the beach island:
I love when the skies are like this, and the intercoastal waters are that deep clear blue:
Heading the other direction, you walk through the sea-grape forest sitting on the ocean ridge, and down the boardwalk access paths to the local beaches:
A little closer, the palm tree greeting you to the beach beyond:
And then the sands, warm and soft under your feet, the grasses gently blowing, the waves shhh-ing, and the sky looking like a painter's creation:
Walking back from the beach, the sun moving west through the trees, and the long tunnels of sea grape and mangrove hammock back to your car:
Of course, Florida always has its touch to the wild side...scary to some, beautiful to others...harmless as long as you don't stray from the path. ; All throughout those sea grapes and mangroves this time of year are the massive Golden Orb-Weaver spiders, famous for their soccer-net sized intricate webs and, well just for being huge!:
There are thousands of them, the size of fists, just a foot or so off the trail, above your head, and to both sides. ; But they know not to build across the path to avoid ruining their webs, and residents know the spiders won't bother them if they just stick to the path. ; It does rattle the visitors a bit, though, seeing a spider the size of a hand a few inches above their heads!
Just a fine day in the life of Boca Raton in the fall, 87 degrees and sunny, water temps 85 degrees and clear, waves 1-2 feet. ; Hope you enjoyed!
