he played with it for about 30 minutes or so and then flew away and left it half dead

it was a riot watching this as the hawk is a juvenile and didn't know what to make of the snake

I saw something similar whenever our cat had kittens. She was an indoor/outdoor cat, and frequently taught the kittens about life outdoors. She would bring a mouse for the kittens to practice on. It was funny, fascinating, and horrifying all at the same time.
