RIP Hitchhiking Ghosts

The ghosts are covering the mirrors where you "ride" with the ghosts at the end of the ride. ; Something is in the works for that part of the ride, and it isn't complete yet. ; The Disney Blog has even said that this was temporary.

People on Flickr are saying this is a temporary setup- which is good to hear- I was a little disappointed when I saw it.

I'm thinking NexGen is going to be involved somehow, maybe not turned on yet, but I think the projection ghosts will be here...to stay. ; Just a guess.

Call me a heretic, but I think the display that Jeff provided a photo of is far better than the original

That's okay Ray, I can agree with you until I experience it myself. ; I'm not one of those people that want the parks to never change. ; I know that there is some uproar about this; even the new queue is not immune.

It's easier to grab a picture of than the original- that's for sure.

f/2 at ISO 7200 for 1/30 Sec ; vs. ; f/1.2 at ISO 12800 for 1/20 Sec

I always complained the the DL hitchhiking ghosts were brighter but now I kind of miss the challenge ; ::)

FWIW video has already surfaced that seems like the audioanimatronics are back, with what appears to be new heads, and now the ghosts who follow you home are...projections...

I especially like it when improvements are made almost like a challenge to the imagineers on whether or not they can do it better. ; I would consider some of the changes at WDW's HM could be classified as that.

I know people hate it when people mess with a classic. ; But, people have been doing that with cars ever since the first hot rods were born. ;
