Okay folks, just a brief informational post here. The Wonders of Life pavillion has been closed for the past year, even during the peak holiday season, and so far as I know it was expected to be closed for good and awaiting a redesign concept.
And yet as a rather pleasant surprise I recently found out it was opening for the holidays. The official Disney World website says it's open seasonally now, and it's expected to close down in January some time. Beyond that I know nothing more. I'm not entirely in the Disney World gossip loop, perhaps some of you know more.
I'm just bringing this up in case word hasn't spread throughout the whole group yet. I have no real pictures of it to speak of, because it's been closed since before I got my Digital Rebel. Otherwise I'd post a few to help build the anticipation. I'm definately looking forward to it. Not long ago I found a minidisc recording I made of Body Wars (I've tried to record high quality audio from most of the rides, I like to cover the place using all media), and it really made me long for a chance to ride it again. I always enjoyed it, not as much as Star Tours perhaps but still it was a classic. I really liked the beginning shrinking sequence, I thought that that was well coordinated with the motion system.
I guess it doesn't have huge photographic potential.. but if nothing else I have plans to do a little stereo 3-d work on the giant DNA strand near the entrance. And I'm going to see everything that I've never seen before, like "The Making of Me". It's just that I've never seen it, but it was so well known.
