Aren't you afraid to have your camera around you neck on that ride?

(Up, Down...rise and repeat)

No neck strap then...just hold on....

What, no shots out the top? :) I tried but didn't get any good ones of the corridor.

These all look good to me, as I have never been on the ride it is nice to see some of it. I really like the view that you got there Scott.

isn't the HM right before the doors open to the drop chute? roger's pic was from after the family gets zapped in the hallway.

Here are a couple that I managed. These were actually taken in succession in this order on one ride. Ifind the one with the electricity flowing made for a better shot as it gave the sensor a little more light to process the image.

dude, i have had NO luck in the 5th dimension. what were you settings there? great job!

Tim, I checked out Jeff's Flicker site. The closeup of the elevator riders had this for the Exif data:

Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 70 mm
Exposure: -0.95
ISO Speed: 8000
Exposure Bias: -1 EV
Aperture-priority mode

What I want to know is if he set the ISO manually or was he using Auto ISO. :)

Thanks Tim. Which shot is the 5th dimension? I have no idea- but all the EXIF is intact if you look at Flickr- OT but it irritates me that both Flickr and Smugmug strip the EXIF data away on resized shots. I do know they were all shot at f2.8- I need to take a fast lens on that ride one of these days.

And Scott- Auto ISO all the way. That is the best thing ever. Not sure on other cameras but with the D300 & D700 you can program in a baseline ISO- along with a minimum shutter speed where it will start raising the ISO- and put a cap on the ISO also since I never let it go to HI2 (25,600) which I think is unusable. At the parks I pretty much shoot in Aperture Priority- change that as needed and never touch another setting. Gone are the days of coming out of POTC and taking the next twenty daylight shots at ISO 1600.

Thanks, Jeff! I figured it was Auto ISO. I use it all the time but I can not cap it like you can. However, the D70 only goes to 1600 yet there are times I wish I could cap it at 800. Just another reason to upgrade. ;)
