Some selected photos from my adventures on Washington's Underground Metro system. Lots of mixed lighting situations but they make for interesting colors.

$10 Metro ride card, $600 VR lens, leg cramps (free) then someone walks into your frame and freezes while the train you've been waiting for comes in...priceless.

I love the first. the sense of motion and the girl looking for the train to stop is great.
I also really like the shot of your family, neat framing.
 
Thanks, guys! I am particulary proud of the first one. I thought it out, took a few test shots to make sure the exposure and WB was good. The girl coming in and standing there like that was luck. But I'll take full credit! ;D

I'm a little surprised that they would have that on the tracks during the day.....
 
There's a decent number of people still left on the upper deck of Metro Center for 2 am. Don't they close at 1230 or something?

Correction, that was taken on a Tuesday night, which would make it midnight. I just barely made it back to the Smithsonian station before closing. I forgot which day of the week it was, which is why I thought it was 2am. A couple of years ago, they started staying open until 3am Friday & Saturday

Well, that is about time! I remember several times wanting to use Metro to go downtown late night on weekends, but you couldn't, forcing you to drive.

And driving in Georgetown on a weekend evening isn't exactly enjoyable. I had to do that enough times in an ambulance to make it not fun. Then again, apart from not fun it was always creepy driving past the Exorcist stairs. *shudder*

Nice. I was in DC this summer but kind of failed to do my photographic best, it was too hot and my feet hurt something awful, it just wasn't conducive to my photographic muse. I've never really done much in the way of metro shooting, although it's such an obvious and interesting subject.
