you can't see me behind this reed

I got one last weekend myself, attempting to mimic a reed - head straight up like the reeds around it, and even slightly wavering in the breeze. ; of course, he was 8x thicker than all the reeds around him, but you can see why they have that neck striping pattern - if they hide behind just one or two layers of reeds, they quickly disappear. ; A few weeks ago I caught this one sitting fairly out in the open:

I was standing 4 ft away from one once and didn't see it. they do blend in well.
it is rare to see them out in the open
