As I posted on the planning board, here are the ride vehicles for both rides. They look to be a standard seatbelt restraint so easy in and out.

    Smuggler’s Run (Millennium Falcon)
    - 6 seats as you pilot the Falcon (on the Kessel run?)
    - each guest has a different role in the cockpit

    Rise of the Resistance
    - trackless vehicle, 8 guests per vehicle

Just about every Disney podcast imaginable has had descriptions of the attractions from a recent press walkthrough. They didn't get to see everything, but what they have revealed is tantalizing.

The seats in the Falcon are for two pilots, two engineers and two gunners. Before you enter the cockpit, you get selfie time in the Falcon's crew lounge.

The Rise of the Resistance ride vehicle is just used during the last part of the attraction. The seat belts are there for "sudden drops."

With 4 trips this year (Thank you Amanda for going to college in Tampa!) we are hoping to get a chance in August (maybe a preview for DVC or AP, or just soft opening) as we are there from the 18-27.

A quick solo trip in late September and I hope to get in there. November will probably be Food and Wine only as Jen will be with me.

An now we know for sure it will be open for Pixelmania we will need to discuss much how we want to tackle this.

When is your trip in November? I’ll be down in November too, pre-Pixelmania, for a cruise and post-cruise stay.

We arrive on the 7th and head home on the 9th, quick 2 day trip to see Amanda and do some food and wine

I arrive on the 9th... leave on the cruise on the 10th. Maybe I’ll see you at the airport then. .

You would think, but we are driving down for the 2 days. Airfare would be $900-$1000 or we drive for $150 for gas roundtrip.

I probably mentioned it elsewhere, but I arrive at WDW on Labor Day, just four days after the grand opening. What I thought would be a nice, uncrowded visit with time to sneak over to Universal for a ride on Hagrid's Motorbike will now most likely be a bladder endurance test, packed wall-to-wall with fellow Star Wars geeks.

I will be in the Orlando area in mid-September. Dates are TBD but I will definitely head on over to Galaxy's Edge. Should be fun to explore a new realm at WDW (wait, wrong word for Star Wars), I meant a new world. ;)

I’m going to miss Hagrids Motorbike by a month. I’ll be there May 17-22, I was thinking it was opening in April not June .

It's opening day at Disneyland! I've been watching the wait times for Smuggler's Run on the Disneyland app, and it's been interesting. In the first hour after the 9 am park opening, wait times were in the 20-30 minute range. Right now at 4:15 pm PDT, it just dropped from 50 to 30 minutes.

The resort-guest-only reservation system must be working well. Sadly, there's no comparable way to do that at WDW simply because there are so darn many hotel rooms in the place.

We'll have to see how things look in a few weeks when they open it up to everyone.

That’s what I’m scared of too... but I think they are also going to cap it off at capacity (though I don’t know what that number is). However, seeing that they fill in shoulder to shoulder in every other part of the parks at times, I don’t expect too much. My only hope is that it won’t be too crowded early morning or late at night and I’ll be able to get in some rides at that time.

I’ll be there late September and will absolutely be using the 6 am opening time!

I figure that Galaxy’s Edge will be the only thing that will get me out of bed that early in the morning. I suppose I need to start retraining my sleep habits now in order to get used to it by then.

The other shoe has dropped. Rise of the Resistance opens at WDW on Thursday, December 5. Coincidentally, that is also the first day of Pixelmania.

    Disneyland's version won't open until January 17, 2020.

Oh, goodie, you can let us know how it goes. I will be in Florida sometime in September but will not be staying at WDW. Though maybe a one night stay will be worth it for EMH hours at DHS...hmmmm.

Great news!!! (With a bit of sarcasm)... that’s gonna make Galaxy’s Edge that much more crowded with bloggers, vloggers and locals...

If Aug 29 opening holds, I'll be up there Sep 13 - 17, and even though I'm not one of the World's Biggest Star Wars fans, I still like to check out a new themed land...so I intended to try to check it out when I get up there. If I can figure out how to get in, that is. Even if I don't hit any rides, just to check it out - if it's like DL's opening, sounds like reservations required or SOL. Hopefully more details will come soon about just how to get on that list so maybe I'll be able to squeeze in on Sep 13 for a look...I've got dinner res at Mama Melrose that night, so I'll be there already.

Disney is being very secretive except maybe 6am EMH for it. Still waiting for a paid version like they do for Toy Story Land now. I think I would spend the money once both rides are open and if they don't allow a hoard in.
