Disney acquires Marvel Comics http://www.newsarama.com/comics/090831- ... arvel.html Not sure what this will mean for parks giong forward, but the huge marketing machine that is Disney will certainly raise the profile of the Marvel stable. I wonder if Universal will have to pay Disney for licensing Marvel Island at IOA? kevin
I guess I"ll no longer have to tell guests that Spiderman products can only be bought at Universal! This is a big coup! ; Wonder how long the existing contracts are for??? ; This will be the indicator as to how it will effect IOA/US!
Disney started out in big way with predominantly masculine theming (trains, transportation, etc), and then the princess empire took over - look out now with Marvel. ; The 10-14 year old boys now have something besides Buzz Lightyear and Pirates!
