Jim Korkis pointed out an interesting little factoid about someone spelling their own name wrong in the handprints in front of the Great Movie Ride. ; Who is this scholar? ; (NO CHEATING!)

Does anybody have a chart on how many names are there?

By God, I think I know this one! ; But I'll wait to see what anyone else comes up with.

I think I had to cheat (although I am not 100% sure in the answer even after 20 minutes of searching) to maybe find out who it is. ; So obviously I am waiting to see the correct answer once posted.

OK...been dropping all kinds of hints, but noone else is chiming in here.

Anyone have a "chart on"...

"By God" I think I know it...

"It's people"...

Hopefully not "dirty"...

"Uy guvalt"...

All those hints, and no takers. ; Holy Moses, what a disaster!

Holy Moses, you need to quick rifling with your associations. ;

sent from my htc thunderbolt ;

It's spelled Charlton in real life, but the signature says 'Charton'. ; (that was my first clue above, about anyone having a 'chart on' how many names there are).

And just to go through the other clues I dropped...

"By God" I think I know it... - Greatest Story Ever Told, Ten Commandments, Ben Hur - he did lots of Bible epics.

"It's people"... - Soylent Green...which you find out as the movie goes on what exactly Soylent Green is..."It's people!"

Hopefully not "dirty"... - Planet of the Apes - as in, get your hands off me, you 'dirty' ape.

"Uy guvalt"... - Both Moses and Ben Hur were Jewish characters.

All those hints, and no takers. ; Holy Moses, what a disaster! - There goes Moses name-dropping again. ; And the 'disaster' reference of course from the 1970s disaster movies of which he appeared in a few.

rifling your associations = heston was president of NRA for a long time.

I actually remembered that one from way back in my earlier visits to MGM - they had a CM out there when the lines were long that would mention little trivia like that. ; Of course I was very familiar with the original Grummans/Mann's from living in LA - so it was cute comparing the original to the recreation.

according to jim korkis, charlton heston was in the middle of writing his name when someone called out to him. ; he looked up and waved and obviously lost his place when he went back to signing his name. ; why it was not quietly corrected is unknown.
