Earlier today I received this unfortunate email. B and H photo is suspending the accounts of all affiliates who live in New Jersey. The reason being, if you have affiliates in a sales tax collecting state then you are required to collect sales tax on all transactions that occur in said State. As a result, the magic in pixels is no longer and affiliate.

It is now critical to utilize my Amazon link for any and all purchases that you made, as the affiliate links are major driving forces in keeping the site open. Please take all efforts to use my Amazon link. Thank you for your past support.

I will be removing the B&H links and banners but until such time please do not use them as they will be of no benefit to this site.

New Jersey Affiliates,

The Current New Jersey Click-Through Nexus Law, requires any vendor,
such as B&H Photo, having New Jersey in-state online affiliates, to start
collecting sales tax on all sales.

Effective July 8, 2014 B&H will pause the entire Affiliate Program
in the state of New Jersey, and will not pay any referral fees for customers
referred to B&H Foto & Electronics Corp by Affiliates from the state of New Jersey.

We are closely monitoring and evaluating the clarification and guidance that is becoming available pertaining to the above-mentioned legislation, and based on that, we will decide what the future holds for the program.

B&H wants to truly thank you for your time & effort as being one of our
Affiliates, and we will keep you apprised of any future developments.

We wish you great success in all your future endeavors.

It's a bummer but I applaud b&h's decision to close the affiliate program in nj rather than making all customers in nj have to pay sales tax.
