Dawn Brancheau

Roger's post from Sea World reminded me of this picture that I took of Dawn Brancheau just one day before she was tragically killed. ; Her pony tail is ; clearly visible. ; I agree that OSHA probably will never ever again allow humans in the water with the animals. ; We had that opportunity to return to Sea World two days after Dawn's death and the Shamu show was entirely different with all of the trainers staying at least 3 feet back from the edge of the water. ; The show was dedicated to Dawn.

I don't think Dawn would have wanted the interaction to stop. ; The show doesn't have the same spirit without the humans being in the water with them.

Roger, I couldn't agree more. ; I am sure she would not have wanted the interaction to stop. ; She had dedicated her life to it, and now because of the loss they can't continue.

Great shots! ; I always loved watching the people and the whales interact. ; It was amazing to watch.

But the one thing that stays consistent in America is....over reaction, over compensation, over adjustment. ;

All of the Sea World parks now prohibit their Orca trainers from getting in the water with them. ; Which may have slowed their response to the male that died in San Diego the other day.
