Here's the Dream waiting for the Christening ceremony/show at Port Canaveral. ; The light was not the most flattering so I did a 5 shot, hand-held HDR set.

Did I mention how big the Dream is? ; 1,115 feet long, 14 decks high, 130,000 tonnes and up to 125 feet in width. ; The ship can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers and almost 1,500 crew members.

Now that's impressive. I need to get out on a Disney Cruise and stat! Your shots here will have to do for now. I'd like to take the new Alaska cruise. Always wanted to go shoot there. What better way than on a Disney Cruise! :)
 
Funny thing is, from that shot, it does not look much bigger than the Magic or Wonder, but is about 50% bigger. ; I cant wait to see it in person!
 
I know for a fact it will be in port early Wednesday morning. ; What you want to do is find out when it is leaving port. ; There is a park we went by before heading into the ocean where a LOT of people where watching us from. ; A few tripods amongst the crowd. ; We departed around 5pm, not sure if that is normal or not for the sailings beginning this week.

thats a big boat. ; twice the weight of a carrier
 
that park is called jetty park, it's part of the county park system for broward i believe, you can find it on the web easily enough, i was checking out camping there, that's how i found it. it would be an excellent place to tripod up for the cruise ships leaving, 2-3 leave within an hour from each other, when we sailed from port orlando, carnival and royal caribbean each had a ship sailing at the same time frame.
 
oooh close Howie, it's only going to be 25-30% heavier than the new Gerald Ford class carriers. ; And that's because they're replacing the old steam catapults with EMALS to save length and weight.

Still amazing to think that Disney has a vessel larger than any in the U.S. fleet.

Unfortunately I was not able to get a ride on the AquaDuck between all the events, shows and visiting Castaway Cay. ; The one time we tried, they shut it down early. ; >:(

That is too bad. ; I am looking forward to giving it a try in the summer. ; It does not look too "thrilling" but I hope it gives some nice views. ; Cool shot by the way!
