when I left home to go it was real nice out and then when I get to the refuge it clouds up and gets windy. I almost turned around and came home but figured that since I am here just do it. I am glad I stayed as I finally got one of a few birds that have eluded me there. It was back lit but it is the best I have been able to get of one so far. the other one I am trying to get is an Oyster catcher

Awesome shots! ; Very jealous, I would love to just see the eagle, even if I missed the shot! ; Is that peregrine on the nest that sits at the far end?

yes John. that is the nest on the back stretch.
thanks Roger. Now I have to figure out how to fix the sky in cs5. I suck at editing

I messed with the sky some and did some wing fixing on the eagle shot and some more cropping

Nice job, and catch...I'd love to get an eagle someday. ; Someone send some down my way...they all seem to stop at Lake Okeechobee, and rarely come any farther down!

thanks Justin. tell ya what. I will trade you a few eagles for some herons mating and chicks. I do get to see the osprey chicks in the summer but those heron shots are fantastic and I would love to be able to document that
