went to fosythe and hooked up with John aka jbwolffiv. the light was horrible and it was very windy. very few birds tp speak of and after 3 1/2 hours out there all I have to show for it is this and of course the pleasure of meeting John. Hopefully the next time it will be worth the trip for him

sorry i couldn't have made it but working a 12 then having 10 hours off to go work a 14 is not a fun schedule. ; plus 4 more on my 1st day off. ; yikes.

trust me Tim. you didn't miss anything. it was one of those days were nothing was happening and the light sucked

It was a lot of fun regardless of the bad light and lack of "cool" birds. Being out and taking pictures was a lot of fun and I learned a lot as well, thanks! ; Gonna sit down and look to see if I have anything worthy.

Here are a few of my shots from today. ; Lots of cropping here.

Some birds in flight.

So these stayed right there for us. ; There were many of them all throughout the park. ; I think this one smiled at me. ; I give you the Forsythe Dead Tree!

Heron (I think)

The one bird of prey that I saw. ; Howie will remember the type.

the tall bird is a Great Blue Heron. the first shot is northern pintails.the second is snow geese. third and fourth are pintails also. four may have a few shovelers also. five is nothern shovelers. 6 is mallards

that is a northen harrier John and yes a great Blue Heron. I am so looking forward to warmer weather John. I think you will have more success also as the Ospreys don't fly so fast and they come closer and you should be able to get skimmers and tern and night crown herons and juvenile night crown herons with the 55-300. this is my first winter shooting and I had to do a lot to get just a few decent ones especially with the 70-300 as the birds now don't come close
