I’m a Slave(1) for punishment…

I didn’t learn my lesson from last time and bought the (knockoff) UCS Slave-1 Set. 2,083 pieces… in no particular order [emoji2361]. I’ve gotten to step 32 (of 114) and the last 10 steps (22-32) took a little over an hour. Most of that was searching thru ziploc bags for every individual piece.

My takeaway so far…
1) transfer each bag they sent to a ziploc bag
2) place ziploc bags into a small storage tote box for easy access
3) work on pulling pieces for the entire page in the book (rather than searching again after each step).

2,000+ pieces in all their glory…

A very heavy grocery bag full…

Semi-sorted… most pieces in ziploc bags… others in a divided storage container with a locking lid.

When I do my massive train table layout I have all the parts separated and do them in stages just like you're doing. There's no books since it's my own mind that's creating this thing.

You're much faster than I am. I have plastic models of Luke Skywalker's X-Wing and Darth Vader's TIE fighter that I bought in 1977 or 78. They're still in the box waiting to be glued together. I'm hoping some collector will come along and over me a small fortune for the both of them.

Starting to look like a mask… got a little further today. And it was a nightmare searching for the parts. I think I looked thru the bags 4 or 5 times before finally finding the right part… then multiply that by 10 times.

And the tail/top/front is starting to take shape.

Just have the two side panels and some gun turrets left to do. Technically just six steps… but lots of small pieces within those steps.

Funniest part of this build is that they included a small set of weapons… apparently they think Boba Fett runs around with AKs and M16s. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
