Okay- done it- Got the Canon SL1- with a 18-55 and a 75-300....Its a start ;) Will be getting it price matched for 649 at Best buy- ( theyhave been real good to me at my store....now I got a little ; more cash to play with- Any one want to guide me to the best prime 50 lens for this camera. Got about 250 left to spend....Got a little cart full at B&H too--- Merry Christmas to me ; :D and to everyone else.

The best 50/55mm prime is this one:

However it is (probably) well out of your price range (and most everyone else's!)

The 50/1.8 from Canon is really cheap and optically very good but it is very noisy when focusing.

I'd recommend the 1.4 from either Canon or Sigma. ; Sigma has made excellent strides lately and are now making superior products than OEM for the price point. ; (I'm excluding the 50/1.2L from comparison to it)
