I found this pretty interesting app for the iPhone: ; http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=38. This will allow you to remotely fire the shutter of your DSLR from your iPhone. The professional version also allows you to control various settings of your camera as well as see the picture you just took all from right on the iPhone. I can see where this would be real handy, especially for those self portraits. And the Pro version is only $19.95.
 
I just read that they will be adding support for Nikon cameras with their next update which is due out in July.
 
Yes. I downloaded it yesterday & will give it a try. It is a bit of a downfall that you have to hook up to the computer, but still should be pretty handy for studio situations.
 
Let us know what you think of it... ; It looks like the professional version will let you use it as an intervalometer, which would save me the cost of buying the Nikon MC-36 remote to do star trails
