This one is the bottom half of the bag with my equipment in it. ; I seldom open it like this.
 
I agree - while the memory card holders are an awfully tight fit for CF, it's just enough room to carry what you should need at the parks, plus have room for everything else in the top compartment, like he said, from diapers to spare clothes, to sunscreen, sunglasses, whatever....

I settled on Lowepro rather than the Tamrac equivalent since the Tamrac one limits the side entry size, which got complaints if you end up having a vertical grip attached.
 
frankie with an iphone and what's in your bag, you will fit right in around here for sure!
 
Frankie, I have the same bag with very similar equipment. ; I like the bag for the most part, it is very convenient for traveling since the laptop can slide in behind the camera gear section. ; It does get a bit heavy with all of the gear and laptop.

TwoThree things I don't like about the bag is that you need to open 2-3 different compartments for bag check going into the parks and it also becomes a bit less efficient since you are wasting some space in effect in the park since the laptop doesn't make the the trip. ; The third pet peeve I have about it is I have had some trouble fitting in under the seat in front of me on some planes

Overall, a nice and affordable bag. ; Cheaper than the Kata brand.

That's interesting. ; I used the laptop compartment for any type of flat things we purchased at the park i.e. pictures, so it didn't go completely unused. ;

I have had no problems on planes. ; Went east coast to west coast on several flights and was able to get under the seat with no problem.

On the park entrance. ; That was the only problem, but it still wasn't that big of a hassle.

Lately it seems i get stuck with a seat that has some type of control box in the area where I can store my stuff.
 
Frankie, thanks for the photo's. ; I checked this out on the B&H site, and they only show the outside, so it definitely helps to see the inside of this. ; At the moment, I only have 3 lenses, my 28-135 the 18-55 and the 70-300. ; I am hoping to get the nifty fifty before traveling to wdw in august, and I think that this bag will be perfect for what I need to carry. ; At the moment, I am relegated to either use the generic bag that came with the kit, which is big and bulky, OR what I am currently doing is using a sling pack for a laptop. ; This might be added next. ; I mean I think that it will be added.

For the lenses you have, look into the LowePro Slingshot 100 (or higher) AW. ; Smaller than the above-referenced pack, and actually holds quite a bit. ; I hold my D90, 18-200, 11-16, 30 1.4, 50 1.8, and SB-400 flash in it (with the 50 and the SB-400 in the top compartment. ; The AW protector is definitely a nice feature, too.

I can take pictures of my gear in the bag if you'd like.
 
That would be great Figment. ; The more options I get to see the better decision I get to make. ; I just don't want to buy something and then be unhappy with it.
 
I will second Figment about the Slingshot 100 being a Great bag. I have this one & although I just bought a Kata R-102, I will continue to use the Slingshot on some occasions. The Great thing about the Slingshot is the ability to quickly flip it around to the front when sitting on most rides. This allows it to stay attached to you where you can keep a firm grip on it. My only reason for purchasing another bag was my recent purchases of a couple more pieces of equipment. I now have 4 lenses & an external flash in addition to the camera & all the accessories. One more note, the Slingshot is not a bag for carrying a tripod, It's just not designed for that. This is a bag made for the camera along with a couple lenses & accessories. But, it is a Great bag that will stay in my possession.

That's what I thought at first, and was why I originally wasn't going to keep it (I don't know if I specified, but it came with my D90), but then I found a way to pretty easily rig my Luxi F to the back of it. ; Granted, with the tripod attached I can't open the bag all the way, nor can I use the all-weather protector, but overall I think it's an okay compromise given the other features of the bag.

I will take pictures tonight when I get home from work.

Have you attached a tripod to your bag? ; I have not and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do so. ; The FastPack 250 doesn;t seem like it has anything built in to carry a tripod, but I hope there is a way to add something on.

I have not tried to do that. ; I normally do not use a tripod...its cheating. ; JK. ; I don't carry one unless I intend on using one. ; Normally, if I want to do something with a long exposure I try hand holding and if that doesn't work, I will find an object to brace my camera. ; I will look at my bag and see what can be done to incorporate a tripod.
 
Interesting thanks guys. ; I am enjoying all of this insight to these different types of bags out there. ; I am not sure that I need to have one that will carry a laptop or not, that part I am still debating. ; Otherwise, ; I can't wait to see other photo's of how and what you guys are carrying your stuff in. ; Thanks for all of the great help.
 
Here we are 16 days later and I still haven't posted those pictures. ; I'll try tonight. ; If not then, it will likely be this weekend...

The tripod on the outside back part is a bit clunky. ; I'm not sure how that will work for a whole day at WDW, but it seems sufficient. ; Otherwise, the bag is perfect for WDW. ; Great size, everything.

How did you attach your tripod? ; Does that bag have an attachment or did you add some type of strap to it?
