American flags are placed on Revolutionary War graves for the United State's Memorial Day remembrance holiday.

Fort Ontario's Post Cemetery east of the fort overlooking Lake Ontario in Oswego, New York. ; Tomb stones date back to the American Revolutionary War in the 1770's.

Some more from the cemetery...

Very nice, Boris.

Of course, what's a holiday without a parade? ; This guy gave me the thumbs up when I called out to get his attention as his float passed by.

I thought that I would add something to Never Forget. ; Over the past few years I have travelled to the Gulf Coast to visit my parents (after hitting Disney of course). ; One of the "Snowbirds" there plays "Taps" at sunset whenever he is at his Condo (sometimes he goes out to eat or to a ballgame). ; Sure, it doesn't get the same respect as if it were played in an Official Military Capacity (people are still chit-chatting during it as I stay quiet), but it is still so powerful. ; The video is a little longer than the song so you can stop it early , but if you let it run to the end a dolphin pops up out of the water at the lower left corner at the last second (or at least it's dorsal fin). ;

(Okay, enough rambling... here's the video)

I agree. ; Here's a couple from our bloodiest day:

Branch Avenue, ; Antietam National Battlefield

The Sunken Lane, Antietam National Battlefield

That was the consensus if you listen to the banter after he is done playing. ; In the past he has hit it dead accurate. ; I think he has a timer and gets a report for sunset time. ;

Love the rest of the photos in this post. ; Thanks for sharing them and hope everyone had a memorable Memorial Day.
