POSTED ON ALL EARS: ; Beginning October 26, 2011, a number of Walt Disney World Resort restaurants will adopt changes to their cancellation policy. As of that date, these restaurants will require a credit card number to guarantee reservations and will charge $10 per person if cancellations aren't made at least one day in advance.

Certain locations that require a pre-paid reservation will continue with this policy, and will retain the full, pre-paid amount if reservations are not cancelled one day in advance. Special dining events and packages such as Fantasmic! packages, New Year's Eve dinners, and Victoria and Albert's reservations may have different cancellation requirements.

Glad we are gone by then, but really it is only a problem if you cancel last minute or become a no-show ($10 per person). ; The list of affected restaurants is listed on the All Ears Site.

Well it's about time they start doing this. ; I think this is how they are trying to fight against those that make two reservations at the same time in different restaurants, and then don't show up at one of them.
 
This won't stop those that are the "extreme couponing" version of DDP extremists, but I think it'll do a lot to help curb this behavior by those who are not willing to be bothered with the burden of cancelling a ressie 24 hours in advance
 
I am all for this. ; Of course, we are the type that plan our meals 180 days out or so, and then usually get the ressie we want. ; I hope this helps slow the "double" ressie issue.
 
This should free up some tables for folks that like to make reservations in the morning for that evening or those that like to walk up to the restaurants. ; My family tends to plan the dining 180 days out so we can get all of our favorite restaurants so this won't affect us much.
 
My family never has the luxury of planning a trip 180 days out. ; We are lucky to get 30 days. So the DDP and the strategies that have cropped up around working the system have made dining at WDW more and more undesirable for us. ; Sadly, dining at WDW was one of the major reasons we would choose WDW over DL. ; So, Disneyland has become higher up on the desirability scale as of late
