EXIF is intact. ; Quick & dirty using PSP at work...which could actually read the NEF.

I'd say MFD since I think I had to move slightly back for AF to work. ; The MFD is just under 1 ft, and from the edge of the hood to the focal plane is 8 inches...so yeah it was about 3-4 inches away.
