Okay. Now I was using a MF lens rather than AF....so my hits weren't as great as I wanted. Plus I learned that 50 is too narrow at times on the ride.

I wonder how well your camera would autofocus in there anyway?
 
Very nice Roger- I was going to try that same combo next week except my 50/1.4 is AF but I agree 50mm looks kind of tight even on FX. Maybe 35/2.8 would work.

The one stop difference between the 1.4 and 35/2 might not be that much of a problem now.

Then again, I'll wait and see what other new primes Nikkor is releasing for Photokina. I see that a German site is reporting that they can order the 50/1.4 AF-S.
