So then I told Toto "I bless the rains down in Africa."

However, if they ever change this to the late fall/winter/early spring... I'm there in a heartbeat.

Great idea! Everyone likes to dress up for Halloween, anyway. That means October would have SWW, F&W and MNSSHP all at the same time.

Seriously, May is such an important month in Star Wars history, I doubt that they will change it. Not for a while, anyway.

Speaking of SWW, here's the 2014 version of the Corellian bounty hunter Dengar.

(In case you hadn't noticed, all of my posts this week are from Star Wars Weekend 1 this year.)

One of my favorite events during Star Wars Weekends is the annual report of Stormtrooper hijinks before the Stars of the Saga show. The stormtrooper preshow follows pretty much the same pattern every year: the commander shows up and wonders where the rest of his platoon disappeared to. They then appear and relate their adventures around Walt Disney World.

They've recently been fitted with music players in their armor, so they like to compare playlists. This year, they had one favorite song in common; they got together to sing it in front of the crowd.

The song was about Hoth. At least I think it was; the last line of the song was something about not being bothered by the cold.

(Note the MagicBands on the three on the right.)

I found it much more crowded this year than my last time back in 2012. New movies coming and the success of The Clone Wars animated series has increased its popularity. I can not imagine what it will be like when Mark Hamill is there this weekend.

Thanks! It was a beautiful evening and I was snapping away as I was leaving the park. I kind of wish I had my tripod, though.

Some people say that The Great Movie Ride needs to be updated to include some more modern films. Here's an idea: Take some of the snakes from the Indiana Jones and horror movie section and put them on the plane in the Casablanca scene. What do you get? Snakes on a Plane!

Heading to Casablanca

We all know that the Citizens of Hollywood live in the world of 1947. So how in the heck did Paige Turner and Daley Reels get hold of that Star Wars Weekends map from nearly 70 years in the future?

Map of what???

I can't help but think that this looks like a posed publicity shot. Too bad the sun overpowered my fill flash.

Yeah, I'd probably say the same thing if a spear suddenly jumped up out of the floor in front of me.

Gaaah!

If you look closely, you can see a ring of smoke around his head where he whipped the torch around, flinging off a piece of burning material.

In the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard, aging film star Norma Desmond said "All right, Mr. De Mille, I'm ready for my closeup." In the 21st century, Citizen of Hollywood Dorma Nesmond is always ready for a closeup.

I'm ready for my closeup

The Disney/LucasFilm hype machine was in full gear during Star Wars Weekends 2014, spreading the news about Star Wars Rebels.

One of the characters in the new animated series is C1-10P, better known as Chopper. This real-life simulation particpated in the daily parade along with fellow rebels Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger.
