I love it Scott! ; I really need to learn how to make colors pop like that, I guess I really need to play around in post processing (or learn to use my camera better!)

A lot of it is the way I set up my Picture Control. ; For this photo, the Nikon D700 camera is set to Vivid mode +3. ; I like color. ; ; It does get me in trouble with reds though but I can tone them down in post if I need to.

So what did I learn today? ; ; I think I need a better camera body ;D. ; I too like color, but if I got into trouble with reds I still dont know what to do in ; post to fix that. ;

I recently found that my county offers so basic photography classes and I am starting one on Wednesday that deals with basic dslr usage. ; I am going to take a class on basic use of Photoshop Elements in the spring. ; I am just not that patient. :-\

ok here's my .o2 worth, take those classes, read those books, esp kelby, and save for lightroom, it's really above photo elements in my humble opinion, one of the greatest assets, the ability to make pre-sets for the development module. like actions for photoshop. but maybe a little easier to grasp and master, i have probably 75 made up, and i kind of fiddle with the first in a set of the same subject or lighting, find what i like, maybe tweak an existing preset, save it with a new name, and then batch sync it to all the like photos. saves lots of time

I agree with Gary, 100%.

One thing I'd add is if you have Lightroom, check out www.lightroomkillertips.com by Matt Kloskowski (Scott Kelby's Lightroom Silver Back Male Ninja) for a slew of presets, as well as web and print templates. Good stuff.

Totally agree with Tom and Gary here. ; Lightroom for PCs or Aperture for Macs are photo management and editing applications well worth the extra money and time to get and learn to use.
