I am looking at getting a macro lens. considering the tamron 180mm. gotta wait a while though after buying a D7000, a tamron 70-300vc lens,a laptop, a tamrac bag and a pair of B and W speakers ; the bank of howie is temporarily ; closed for business

I read that you want to get the longest macro lens you can afford for better working distances. ; Especially for animals and insects. ; I'll want to try out your long Tammy in June. ; I just know the 80-400 will not be long enough for me on the FX body. ; I may rent the Sigma 50-500 that week.
