Michael,

These are great. ; I could have kicked myself on our last trip...I'm thinking they stopped Splash Mountain at LEAST a dozen times. ; While putting a damper on the ride experience, it would have been open season for shooting. ; What did you do to make the most of the low light?

Thanks.

Thanks, Peter! ; A ride stoping is every Disney photographer's dream. ; That's why I always carry my camera on the rides even if I have no intention of taking any pictures.

To get the shot, I used, my 50mm f1.4, set the camera to shutter priority at 1/60s, turned Auto-ISO on and dialed in -1/3 exposure comp. ; That resulted in an exposure of 1/60s, f1.4 at 1800 ISO for the Brer Rabbit photo and 1/60s, f1.4 at 6400 ISO for the vultures.

I use that same setup in almost all the dark rides, and I only lower the shutter speed in the really dark ones like Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan. ; The -1/3 exposure comp is not a strict rule and will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and model to model, so it may require some experimentation to see how your camera reacts to see if you need to dial in any exposure comp and if so, how much.

Thanks, John! ; That area is full of details. ; It's definitely worth running straight there right after park opening and spending a few minutes shooting before it gets busy in there.
